HORIZON-HLTH-2026-01-DISEASE-11: GRIMEX (Multidisciplinary Research Group of Extremadura)

GRIMEX (Multidisciplinary Research Group of Extremadura) brings together health professionals such as doctors and nurses from different fields to study cardiovascular risk factors and diseases from a mainly clinical and also population-based perspective. It belongs to INUBE, which integrates high-quality health research groups in Extremadura (Spain). Its main research lines include vascular risk factors (HERMEX study), heart failure characteristics and prognosis (INCA study), and the role of frailty in these contexts.

GRIMEX offers multidisciplinary expertise in cardiovascular and chronic disease research, focusing on sex and gender-specific determinants, vulnerable populations and person-centred care. The group has a strong publication record in clinical, public health and social science journals. GRIMEX provides access to qualitative and quantitative research infrastructures, cohort and community-based studies, mixed-methods analysis and participatory research tools, and contributes expertise in stakeholder engagement, implementation research, evaluation and evidence translation into policy and practice.
