HORIZON-CL2-HERITAGE&TRANSFO: INTROMAC

INTROMAC is a public Research Institute of the Extremadura Regional Government (Spain) focused on improving competitiveness in energy-efficient building through R&D and innovation. Its research covers Energy Efficiency, Sustainability, materials, structures, Heritage and industrial processes, and is organized into two departments: Technologies & Sustainable Construction, and Ornamental Stones, Construction Products and Techniques.

The Centre supports HORIZON CL2 HERITAGE and TRANSFO topics by integrating material science, engineering and sustainability. It develops circular restoration materials from waste, validates compatibility with historic substrates and applies LCA to reduce CO₂. It enables sustainable tourism through NDT monitoring and durable materials, improves indoor health with eco-mortars, designs permeable historic pavements, traces artifact provenance, recovers traditional craft recipes and sources, and embeds SSH–STEM collaboration in heritage research.
