The American University of Beirut Mediterraneo (AUBMED) in Cyprus is seeking partners for the Horizon Europe call HORIZON-CL2-2026-01-HERITAGE-06, focused on safeguarding linguistic diversity in Europe. Its proposed project, VESSEL (Revitalizing Endangered Languages through Storytelling and Safeguarding through Educational Legacies), aims to develop a transferable, community-led framework for revitalising endangered and marginalised languages through linguistic ethnography, intergenerational engagement, digital storytelling, and innovative digital technologies. The project will pilot its approach with several endangered language communities, including Cypriot Maronite Arabic, while creating educational resources, methodologies, and digital tools that can be replicated across Europe. AUBMED is seeking universities, cultural heritage organisations, NGOs, public authorities, and technology providers with expertise in minority languages, cultural heritage, digital humanities, AI, and community engagement. The expression of interest deadline is 22 June 2026, while the call closes on 23 September 2026.
