Development of predictive biomarkers of disease progression and treatment response by using AI methodologies for chronic non-comunicable diseases

Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava (USV) is seeking partners for the Horizon Europe call HORIZON-HLTH-2027-02-TOOL-01, focused on developing AI-based predictive biomarkers for chronic diseases. USV brings strong expertise in genomics, microbiome research, bioinformatics and applied AI, supported by extensive infrastructure and experience in EU-funded projects. The proposed contribution centres on developing a European benchmarking and reproducibility framework (“Bio-Bench”) to assess the reliability, transparency and safety of AI tools used in biotech and genomics, using real-world genomic and wastewater data as pilot cases. The initiative aims to establish a validation and certification hub for AI tools in life sciences, contributing to the future European Health Data Space and laying the foundations for a Centre of Excellence in AI benchmarking. The deadline for expressions of interest is 15 February 2026.
