CICYTEX is a public research centre of the Extremadura Regional Government focused on applied innovation for sustainable agriculture. With 20+ years’ experience, it works on irrigated Mediterranean crops, collaborating with farmers and cooperatives to co-develop solutions. It integrates soil, plant and environmental data using sensors and tools like VegSyst-DSS and IrriDesK to optimise water and nutrients. Its strength lies in turning field data into digital, AI-ready solutions, supporting resilient, resource-efficient farming under real conditions.

CICYTEX offers strong expertise in sustainable irrigation and fertilisation under water and nutrient constraints, with 20+ years in Mediterranean systems. It provides real-farm experimentation, working with farmers, cooperatives and irrigation communities. Capabilities include soil labs, sensors, geophysical mapping, plant diagnostics and satellite data integration. It develops and validates DSS tools like VegSyst-DSS and IrriDesK for real-time optimisation, supporting digital innovation, co-creation and uptake of efficient, sustainable practices.
