- QUIENES SOMOS:
Dr. Francisco Miguel Sánchez Margallo serves as the Scientific Director of the JUMISC and Deputy Director of the Unique Scientific and Technical Infrastructure known as NANBIOSIS. He leads the University-Affiliated Research Centre at the University of Extremadura and heads the Advanced Therapies Research Group within the Spanish Biomedical Research Network RICORS-TERAV. He is also the current President of the Spanish Association for Surgical Research.
Dr. Sánchez Margallo has led or participated in over 150 R&D projects at national and international levels, with public and private partners.
- QUE OFRECEMOS:
Dr. Sánchez Margallo has supervised 42 doctoral theses and is currently mentoring five PhD candidates. The research topics span the design, development, and preclinical validation of innovative medical devices; the evaluation of emerging therapeutic strategies including cell and gene therapies; and the use of in vivo preclinical models for the study of cardiovascular, reproductive, and urological diseases. Additional key areas of research include tissue engineering, minimally invasive surgical techniques, 3D imaging for surgical planning, and simulation-based surgical training systems.
