MSCA-PF 2025: University of Extremadura

Dr. Pablo Bustos is a professor at the University of Extremadura (www.unex.es) and member of RoboLab, the Robotics and Computer Vision Laboratory. His research interests cover most problems related to social robotics. Specifically, he is interested in the foundations of spatial AI and its relation to situational awareness; the design and construction of robots whose bodies respond to specific functionalities; and embodied cognitive architectures and their implementation in distributed, real-time code.

Research facilities: RoboLab is a robotics research laboratory created in 2000 which now has between 20 and 25 researchers, including professors, postdocs and graduate students. Since its creation, we have designed and built our own robots, totalling now eighteen robots of different kinds and functions. The lab has a complete set of mechatronics development equipment, large-format 3D printers and an adapted apartment to perform controlled experiments with social robots in real situations.
