MSCA-PF 2026: New generation of adaptive biodegradable biointerfaces to pathological microenvironments. University of Extremadura (UEX | Candidate for Global Fellowship)

Juan Manuel Casares López, PhD and researcher at the University of Extremadura, specializes in biomaterials, biointerfaces and nanobiotechnology, with expertise in AFM-based nanocharacterization. His research focuses on biodegradable antibacterial biomaterials and UV-responsive systems for biomedical applications. He has international experience at the University of Leeds, publications in high-impact journals, and expertise in AFM/KPFM, nanoscale surface characterization, profilometry and biointerface analysis, combined with strong interdisciplinary collaboration and communication skills.

Juan Manuel Casares López has built an interdisciplinary research profile combining physics, biomaterials science and nanobiotechnology through active participation in regional and national competitive projects. His work focuses on biodegradable biomaterials, antibacterial surfaces and advanced AFM characterization under physiologically relevant conditions. International experience at the University of Leeds strengthened his autonomy, problem-solving and methodological skills.
