- Descripción y Objetivos:
Flexible, low-cost thermochemical energy storage technology
The EIC-funded 4TunaTES project was established to address the urgent need for energy and heat storage owing to the intermittency of renewable resources. The initiative will deliver groundbreaking, flexible thermochemical energy storage (TCES) technology that cuts development costs by 90 % and can be easily adapted to different applications. Researchers seek to produce a TCES prototype for domestic use, developing new TCES materials with tuneable phase diagrams, heat-exchanging components with high manufacturing flexibility and innovative systems with electricity-adapted thermodynamic cycles. 4TunaTES brings together computational material scientists, physical chemists, mechanical engineers and a heat battery developer to unlock the potential of thermal energy storage.
