HORIZON-CL6-2026-02-FARM2FORK-09: Institute for the Research in Agrifood Resources (INURA) of the University of Extremadura

The Institute for Research in Agrifood Resources (INURA) of the University of Extremadura brings together more than 80 researchers across 15 groups, with strong expertise in the quality, safety and sustainability of agricultural and agrifood products. Its research covers plant pathogens, rapid detection technologies, microbial biocontrol systems and sustainable postharvest management. INURA maintains close collaboration with the regional agrifood industry, generating applied knowledge that adds value along the entire food chain, from field to table.

In return, INURA offers proven expertise in biocontrol and food safety to ensure that proposed diets are safe, a strong background in nutrition and microbiome research to design and interpret microbiota–diet studies, the capacity to generate high‑quality datasets to train robust AI models, and solid experience in scientific validation and communication to translate evidence into clear messages for users and professionals.
