New opportunity from Lodz University of Technology

Lodz University of Technology (Poland) is seeking partners for the Horizon Europe call HORIZON-HLTH-2027-02-TOOL-01-two-stage, focused on developing AI-based predictive biomarkers for chronic non-communicable diseases. The proposed project aims to further develop XDERM, a human-centred AI diagnostic support system for assessing pathological skin lesions, combining clinically interpretable dermatological indicators with advanced Vision Transformer models and explainable AI (XAI). Building on a database of approximately 1.5 million medical images, the initiative seeks to improve diagnostic accuracy, consistency and clinical interpretability while supporting medical professionals' decision-making. The university is particularly interested in partners contributing to clinical validation, independent datasets, technology integration and medical device development. The project is expected to last 36 months, with an expression of interest deadline of 9 November 2026 and a call deadline of 13 April 2027.
