Safety of Cyclists, Pedestrians and Users of Micromobility Devices

The Horizon Europe call HORIZON-CL5-2026-01-D6-13 focuses on improving the safety of cyclists, pedestrians, and micromobility users (e.g., e-bikes, e-scooters, e-cargo bikes). With active and micromobility transport growing in cities, proposals must address crash risks, infrastructure design, and safety regulations. Expected outcomes include better road safety, standardised crash reporting, guidelines for integrating micromobility into Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs), and mitigation measures against heavier car fleets. Projects should test new infrastructure designs, smart technologies like V2X, and real-time information platforms in at least two urban environments. Social sciences and humanities involvement is required to assess behavioural aspects and societal impacts. The call opens on 16 September 2025 and closes on 20 January 2026.
