- WHO WE ARE:
CICYTEX is a public research centre of the Extremadura Regional Government focused on applied innovation in agri-food and environmental sectors. With 20+ years’ experience in Mediterranean irrigated agriculture, it specialises in soil–plant interactions, crop nutrition and field-based decision support. It integrates lab, sensor and satellite data, including DUALEM mapping, to manage spatial variability. It develops tools like VegSyst-DSS and IrriDesK, supporting sustainable irrigation and fertilisation, including in nitrate vulnerable zones.

CICYTEX provides strong expertise in soil, water and nutrient management in Mediterranean irrigated systems, with 20+ years of experience. It works on horticultural crops and fruit trees under real conditions, offering soil and plant monitoring, spatial variability analysis and lab assessments. It uses sensors, DUALEM mapping and satellite data to support management, and applies tools like VegSyst-DSS and IrriDesK for decision-making. It also offers field validation, multi-source data integration and strong links with farmers and irrigation communities.
