MSCA-PF 2026: Biotechnological recovery of critical metals from industrial and battery waste streams through integrated biohydrometallurgical processes. Iberian Center for Research in Energy Storage (CIIAE | Supervisor)
- QUIENES SOMOS:
Almudena González has over 15 years of experience in biotechnology process optimisation, agro-food by-product treatment and biogas production through biomethanisation. She has participated in 6 regional and national projects, publishing 16 Q1 articles and 18 book chapters. Since 2023, she has worked at CIIAE on biohydrometallurgy for critical metal recovery from end-of-life batteries using bioleaching, bioprecipitation and bioelectrochemistry.
- QUE OFRECEMOS:
At CIIAE, researchers access advanced laboratories, pilot plants and modelling tools covering the full energy-storage cycle from materials to scale-up. Facilities include TGA, DSC, DLS, XRD, TEM and prototype testing, supporting high-TRL research. Since 2022, CIIAE has participated in 10 EU projects, 1 ERC-STG, 3 MSCA-PF and 7 MSCA-Cofund grants. The centre also benefits from the project-management support of FUNDECYT-PCTEX.
