New European Bauhaus: Association of Popular Universities of Extremadura (AUPEX)
- QUIENES SOMOS:
AUPEX is a non-profit organization representing 220 rural municipalities in Extremadura (Spain). It works as a network for education, culture, social and digital inclusion, civic participation and sustainability. AUPEX has over 290 staff and reaches more than 100,000 participants annually through lifelong learning, employment and digital skills programs, cultural and heritage actions, social intervention, international cooperation, digital literacy centres, Circular FABs for innovation, and initiatives aligned with the SDGs.
- QUE OFRECEMOS:
AUPEX contributes to NEB Participation calls by leading inclusive co-creation and community-based research for neighbourhood design. It engages diverse and vulnerable groups through participatory methods, strengthens local capacity in climate, health and democratic literacy, and integrates social inclusion to prevent inequalities and green gentrification. AUPEX supports impact evaluation, knowledge transfer and dissemination, enabling replication of people-centred, healthy and sustainable neighbourhood models in rural and peri-urban contexts.
