University of Extremadura (Spain) is seeking partners from Malta, Croatia, Slovenia or Egypt for a PRIMA 2026 proposal on digital traceability in Mediterranean food value chains

The University of Extremadura (Spain) is seeking eligible partners from Malta, Croatia, Slovenia or Egypt to join the ND-TraceMed project – “Non-Destructive Digital Evidence and Product Passports for Quality, Safety, Authenticity and Traceability in Mediterranean Food Value Chains” – under PRIMA 2026. The consortium has been invited to submit a full proposal to the second stage and is open to including new partners through a Widening Action. The 36-month project aims to develop and validate context-aware digital traceability systems based on dynamic Digital Product Passports (DPP), integrating interoperable non-destructive technologies and advanced ICT tools to improve quality control, food safety, transparency and authenticity across Mediterranean agri-food value chains. The project will be validated through a distributed Mediterranean demonstrator network, with at least 18 digital lot/product passport use cases covering sectors such as olive oil, fruit and vegetables, wine, dairy, meat, fishery, honey, spices and aromatic herbs. The consortium is looking for entities with expertise in food product business development and/or the implementation of digital tools for food products. The City of Bodø (Norway) is seeking partners for the Horizon Europe call HORIZON-NEB-2026-01-BUSINESS-03 to transform the former military and civil airport into a large-scale, sustainable urban district. Using the Hernes redevelopment area as a living lab, the project will test nature-based solutions, circular reuse of infrastructure and materials, urban agriculture, regenerative tourism, and inclusive place-making. Bodø aims to demonstrate how large infrastructure sites can be regenerated through innovative, climate-neutral, and socially inclusive urban development in line with New European Bauhaus principles. LEMNA brings expertise in energy and maritime economics, industrial organisation, and strategic management, with research covering techno-economic assessments of shipping decarbonisation solutions, nuclear and hydrogen transition pathways, market modelling under uncertainty, and innovative business models. The laboratory aims to contribute to the economic and managerial analysis of maritime energy transition strategies and is looking to join a consortium as a research partner. The expression of interest deadline is 20 February 2027.
